Pre - Blood Donation

Eat a balanced meal

• Drink plenty of fluids

• Get a good night's sleep

• Avoid strenuous activities

• Bring a photo ID

• Wear clothing with sleeves that can be easily rolled up

• Avoid drinking alcohol for at least 24 hours before donating

• Avoid smoking for at least an hour before donating

• Let the staff know if you have taken any medicines or having any medical history or vitamins in the past 24 hours

Blood Donation Procedure

1. Make sure you are eligible to donate. You must meet certain criteria, such as being in good health, not having recently travelled to an area with a high risk of malaria, dengue, and other vector diseases, and being at least 18 years old.

2. Make an appointment. Many centre's will allow you to make an appointment online or by phone.

3. Prepare for your donation. Eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of water before donating.

4. Complete a health history questionnaire. You will be asked to provide information about your medical history and lifestyle.

5. You have to checked your blood pressure ,haemoglobin checked. The technician will check your  take your blood pressure and  haemoglobin level.

6. Donate. A technician will guide you through the donation process and help make sure the donation is safe and comfortable.

7. Receive refreshments. After your donation, you will be given a snack and drink to help restore your energy.

8. Follow post-donation instructions. Your technician may provide you with specific instructions to follow after donating, such as avoiding strenuous activity or drinking.

Post - Blood D0nation

After donating blood, it is important to take certain steps to ensure a safe and speedy recovery. These steps include drinking plenty of fluids, avoiding strenuous activities and heavy lifting, eating a healthy meal, and avoiding alcohol and cigarettes. Additionally, it is important to monitor your body for signs of infection, such as fever, chills, or redness and swelling at the donation site. If you experience any of these symptoms, it is important to contact a doctor immediately.
